Women's Cycling Skills & Intro to Power Camp

 Clermont, Florida

Camp type:
  • Women’s Specific Road and Intro to Power Cycling Camp
  • (MTB and Tri-athletes are welcome)
  • Endurance and mid-intensity paced rides and skills instruction
  • 40 to 80 miles / 3 to 4 hours of daily riding (pace groups dependent on ability of riders)

Ride the gently rolling terrain of Clermont, Florida

Considering a cycling camp catered to the female cyclist? Searching for a camp to really challenge yourself, learn key skills, get in some great base miles and learn how to train with power from the guy who wrote the book on power, Hunter Allen? Well, this IS the cycling camp for YOU!

The goal of this cycling camp is to focus on improving your ride skills and techniques, as well as, group riding techniques and strategies. You will learn the basics of training with power and surplus HR and perceived exertion training. Athletes from all over the world descend upon the beautiful rolling terrain of Clermont, FL throughout the year. Clermont is the perfect place for a cycling camp with awesome hill training opportunities, quiet country roads, proximity to the National Training Center and hometown to several Peaks Coaching Group Female Coaches. Receive daily on-the-road coaching from our coaches and team, as well as, post-ride power analysis and training that will help set you up for the season right!

General camp information:

Lodging & accommodations: 
Our campers will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Clermont, Florida located 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport. Enjoy free hot breakfast and complimentary WiFi.

Arrival / Return Information:
For those traveling via air we recommend flying into Orlando International Airport. 
If you will not be renting a vehicle on your own, please be sure to send your travel itinerary to us so that we may arrange to pick you up.    

Arrivals:
Check-in for the camp begins at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Hampton Inn & Suites, Clermont, Florida. Please make arrangements to arrive at the airport between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th if you will be needing transportation to the hotel.  

Returns:
Leaving at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017. 
If you need to utilize the pickup service, please book your flights accordingly.

Your bike:
For those traveling by air you can either chose to ship your bike in advance or take with you in your travels. Our support team will assemble all shipped bikes in advance and be onsite to support those that are traveling with their bike.
If shipping, please ship your bike to arrive 48 hours in advance of camp to ensure arrival. Please ship bikes to:             TBA

Hampton Inn and Suites provides a wonderful breakfast buffet.

Your Sunday Welcome Dinner and daily lunches will be freshly prepared by our organic and natural chefs; Chef Andrew Axmacher & Chef Guillermo Herrera. Cyclists themselves, they amaze and delight groups of all sizes with their culinary expertise. Gluten free, vegan and other dietary requests welcome!

Your remaining dinners (also included), will be hosted at local restaurant favorites, with our final dinner at Downtown Disney’s House of Blues Restaurant.

Rides:

Our daily routes traverse the best Clermont, FL has to offer for cyclists: long, rural roads, gently rolling hills, and the highest paved road in the state of Florida, Sugarloaf “Mountain”. Athletes from all over the world descend upon these roads each winter and you’ll see why firsthand. We will perform optional power tests and teach on-road skills throughout the week, to include various forms of rotating pace lines, corners, staying upright in surprising conditions, and much more!

Downtime:

While your days will be action-packed with breakfast, recovery routines, afternoon seminars and evening dinners, there will be availability to break off for down-time as well. Make an appointment with our highly sought-after LMT/ART practitioner Maria Arredondo, who works solely with athletes up too and including Olympians. Schedule a 1-on-1 with Hunter Allen for training tips and file analysis. Schedule fitting, run analysis, or other tests available at the National Training Center Sport and Human Performance Labs. Thursday night be prepared to head out to Downtown Disney, where we’ll start with a camp-paid dinner (not including alcohol) and evening playtime. 

Weather:
Weather in Clermont, FL in late February is typically full of sunshine, with lows in the 50’s in the mornings, rising to the 70’s and sometimes low 80’s in the afternoon. While Central Florida has been known to suffer a cold spell with 30’s overnight and into the morning, this is rare (particularly as we get closer to March).

Extra days to extend your stay:

Want to extend your travels while in Florida? Why not add a few extra days to do some extra exploring, on or off your bile. We have great rates for campers who want to add a few days prior or post our PCG Women’s Clermont training camp experience.  

These extra days include lodging, breakfast and general hotel amenities. This would be a great time to enjoy some of the other exciting things in Florida. Clermont is known as the “Choice of Champions” and is located about 20 miles west of Orlando and major theme parks. A $500 refundable deposit is due at time of registration. This deposit is refundable up to 60 days prior to the first day of camp. You will be issued a final invoice 38 days before the first day of camp, and final payment is due 31 days before the commencement of your cycling camp; all such payments are final, non-refundable, and non-applicable. Peaks Coaching Group recommends travel insurance in case of emergency cancellation.
